No Authority? Run Under Ours
You do not need your own operating authority to run hotshot with us. You lease your truck and trailer on to SoReel Outdoors LLC under a written lease, 49 CFR Part 376, and you haul under our authority, our MC number, our USDOT number, and our insurance. Reel Time Dispatch finds the freight, sets up the broker, and handles the paperwork. You drive.
Getting your own authority takes filing fees, insurance quotes, a process agent, BOC-3, UCR, and months of waiting while brokers turn away new MC numbers. Leasing on skips all of that. You can be hauling real freight at real rates while you decide whether you want your own authority later.
What You Still Need
- Your own pickup, 3/4 ton or 1 ton, in good shape
- A flatbed trailer, gooseneck or bumper pull
- A valid driver license and a DOT medical card. CDL and non-CDL drivers are both welcome
- Straps, chains, binders, and tarps
- A phone you answer, and the habit of sending pictures at pickup and delivery
- Fluent, professional English with shippers, receivers, and roadside officers
- A regular U.S. domestic driver license. No non-domiciled CDLs
- A verified history with hauling, strapping and securing a flatbed load, maintaining timelines, and following directions
How Hotshot Without Authority Works
- Fill out the driver application and email us
- Read and sign the lease agreement
- Send your license, medical card, registrations, inspection, and the truck, VIN, and securement photos
- We add your truck and trailer to our policy and put our USDOT number on your truck
- We dispatch you and you start running
