Have a Truck but No Trailer?
To lease on and run hotshot with us you need a flatbed trailer to go with your truck. We do not rent trailers. What we can do is help you pick the right one before you spend the money, so you buy a trailer that brokers want and that your truck can legally pull.
What to Look For
- Gooseneck or bumper pull flatbed, 30 to 40 foot. Longer decks book more freight
- A GVWR that fits your truck and your license. Over 26,000 pounds combined needs a CDL
- Ramps and a winch open up equipment and vehicle loads
- Good brakes, tires, lights, and a clean deck, because it has to pass an annual inspection
- Title and registration in your name, so it can go on our policy
Email Before You Buy
Email us the trailer you are looking at and we will tell you straight whether it will work for the freight we haul. Once you have it, fill out the driver application and we will get you leased on.
Everything Else You Need
- Your own pickup, 3/4 ton or 1 ton, in good shape
- A valid driver license and a DOT medical card. CDL and non-CDL drivers are both welcome
- Straps, chains, binders, and tarps
- A phone you answer, and the habit of sending pictures at pickup and delivery
- Fluent, professional English with shippers, receivers, and roadside officers
- A regular U.S. domestic driver license. No non-domiciled CDLs
- A verified history with hauling, strapping and securing a flatbed load, maintaining timelines, and following directions
